Horchata
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup uncooked, long-grain white rice
- 1 cup almonds
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 5 cups water, divided (3 cups hot, 2 cups cold)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- Cheesecloth
Directions
- Add rice, almonds, and 3 cups of hot water to blender. Blend until very smooth.
- Let mixture stand overnight.
- Add 2 cups of water, blend once more for good measure.
- Strain through multiple layers of cheesecloth.
- Add sugar and chill.
