Butter paneer chicken
Ingredients
For chicken only:
- 2lb boneless chicken meat, cubed
- 2 t lemon juice
- 2 t chili powder
- salt to taste
- 1 Tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 Tbsp yogurt
- 1 tsp garam masala
For gravy:
- paneer or chicken
- 2 Tbsp mustard oil
- 1/2 tsp fenugreek leaf
- 3 chopped onion; fry till light brown & blend to make paste
- 1 tsp red chili
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 Tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 3-4 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 cup fresh cream
- 2-3 Tbsp butter
- 4 Tbsp cashew paste/butter
Directions
- If making chicken, marinade in combined ingredients for at least 2 hours or overnight
- Heat a pan with mustard oil.
- Add fenugreek and onion paste; fry for 5 minutes and then add ginger and garlic paste. Fry for 2 minutes. Now add the tomato, garam masala powder, coriander powder, red chili, turmeric powder & fry it till brown. Add fresh cream and cashew butter and marinated chicken or paneer.
- Add 2 cups of water and cook til gravy is reduced.
- Add butter and garnish with coriander leaves.
