Grandma’s rolls
Ingredients
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 1/2 c. sifted flour (try bread flour next time)
- 1 t. salt
- 2 1/4 t. yeast
- 1 stick butter
Directions
- Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar to slightly beaten eggs and mix. Add yeast water then add half the flour and beat until smooth. Add rest of flour and salt. Drizzle melted butter over mixture and beat until smooth. Let mixture rise 4 hours, covered.
- After 4 hours, separate dough into 4 sections and roll out each section into pie shape. Cut into 8 wedge-shaped pieces and roll the big end to small end. Place on greased sheet. Let rise 4 hours, covered. After 4 hours, bake 8-10 minutes at 375. Brush tops with butter while hot. Makes 3-4 dozen.
